Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following two arrests in Bournemouth on suspicion of knife offences.
At around 9pm on Monday, 9 June 2025, it was reported a teenager was in possession of a machete on King John Avenue.
Officers attended and located a boy matching the description, as well as a second boy reported to have been involved. A knife was recovered.
A 16-year-old boy from Poole was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, and a 16-year-old boy from Christchurch was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
Both remain in police custody at this time.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Police Staff Investigator Alice Harmsworth, of Bournemouth police, said, “We are carrying out a detailed investigation into this reported incident, and I would urge any witnesses or anyone who has any information that might assist our enquiries, to please get in touch.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time and captured relevant dashcam footage.
“We understand this reported incident may cause concern among the community, and we want to reassure residents we take knife crime very seriously, and it is a Force priority to tackle knife-related offences. Our officers can be approached at any time with concerns.”
